**Job Title:** Rotary Cutting Machine Operator

### **Position Overview**
The Rotary Cutting Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and performing changeovers on rotary cutting machines used for cutting tubed materials according to customer specifications. This includes testing and adjusting machines for quality assurance and ensuring accurate and efficient operations with minimal downtime.
> **Note:** Training will begin on **1st shift**. While training duration may vary, the full-time position will ultimately transition to **2nd shift**, Monday through Thursday from **3:15 PM to 1:45 AM**. **Fridays are typically scheduled for overtime** (8 to 10 hours).
### **Essential Job Functions**
- Set up and tear down rotary cutting machines in accordance with job/work orders.
- Perform machine changeovers quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Select and inspect mandrels to ensure correct size and absence of damage.
- Adjust set screws and blade settings, spacing circular cutting blades per job specs.
- Start machines, conduct test cuts, inspect for defects (e.g., burrs, angle, depth), and make needed readjustments.
- Install and adjust feed mechanisms, guide rollers, tracks, and fittings per production requirements.
- Sharpen blades and punches, replace worn or defective parts, and disassemble machines as needed.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance to maintain machine performance.
- Meet established quality and efficiency standards.
- Manage changeover and adjustment time effectively to reduce machine downtime.
- Promote and uphold workplace safety, cleanliness, and organization.
- Collaborate with team members and provide support as needed.
### **Additional Responsibilities**
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings.
### **Qualifications and Skills**
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine operation.
- Ability to read and interpret measurement tools (tape measure, micrometers, calipers).
- Basic math skills including fractions and decimals.
- Good eye-hand coordination and attention to detail.
- Adaptable, quick learner with strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and planning abilities.
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and general production workflows is a plus.
### **Physical Requirements**
- Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Regular use of hands and arms for machine setup and operation.
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs as required.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations.
