Barberton Mancan is assisting an Akron manufacturing company is seeking seasoned candidates with experience in Press Set-Up operators for full time positions.
Shift is 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday
Pay is based on experience $22 - $35/ hour
This is a temp to hire opportunity for the right candidate.
Job Summary:
The Press Operator - Set-Up is responsible for preparing and configuring printing presses or stamping machines for production runs. This role includes selecting and installing dies, fixtures, and tools, performing test runs, adjusting settings, and ensuring the press operates efficiently and safely according to specifications.
Responsibilities:
Set up and configure printing/stamping presses based on job orders and production specifications.
Install dies, rollers, and other necessary components with precision.
Perform test runs to verify proper operation and make adjustments as needed.
Monitor equipment during operation to ensure consistent quality and detect malfunctions.
Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality stanrds.
Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and reporting mechanicalissues.
Read blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine specifications and setup requirements.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Collaborate with supervisors, maintenance staff, and quality control to optimize production.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training preferred.
Previous experience as a press operator or in a similar industrial machine setup role.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and job specifications.
Mechanical aptitude and good problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and handle repetitive tasks.
Knowledge of safety standards and ability to follow procedures strictly.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with specific types of presses (e.g., offset, flexographic, stamping, hydraulic).
Forklift certification or other applicable machinery certifications.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
