Lead Maintenance Technician

Mancan Staffing is hiring a Lead Maintenance Technician for a busy manufacturing facility in Steubenville! This position requires a skilled and hands-on professional to oversee and coordinate maintenance operations, ensuring optimal equipment performance and workplace efficiency. This role involves supervising team members, performing mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues, and carrying out installations and repairs. The ideal candidate will be proficient in preventative maintenance, fabrication, pipefitting, and operating heavy equipment, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and effective communication with management. This is a full-time temp-to-hire position on day shift (6:00AM-4:30PM Monday through Friday). Pay is based on experience.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise or function as a working foreman, coordinating tasks among team members to ensure efficient workflow.
• Understand basic mechanical and electrical systems and apply knowledge to daily tasks.
• Disassemble, reassemble, and evaluate equipment operation effectively.
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures and basic bench operations such as drilling, tapping, grinding, welding, and fabricating.
• Install machinery, tanks, pimps, and processing equipment as required.
• Size and fit keys, shafts, bearings, etc., ensuring proper functionality.
• Thread, fit, and install black iron, stainless steel piping, PVP pipe, valves, and fittings.
• Operate equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts and forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures, identifying root causes and developing solutions.
• Read and comprehend operating and maintenance manuals, translating knowledge into practical applications.
• Effectively respond to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion.
• Complete monthly safety and security reports, demonstrating a commitment to workplace safety.
• Follow written and verbal instructions from management and interact with management regularly to discuss maintenance needs and provide feedback on equipment and performance.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
Requirements:
• Demonstrate strong work ethics by being punctual, dependable, and reliable in all tasks.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision, demonstrating good organizational skills, initiative, communication, and teamwork.
• Possess a keen eye for detail and strong willingness to learn.
• Able to manage the physical demands of the job including: standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screening along with random testing thereafter.
• Must be willing to be clean shaven.
