Inside Sales Representative
Job Summary:
This role is responsible for driving sales growth by managing new and existing small to medium-sized customer accounts across the United States. The Inside Sales Representative will optimize customer relationships, ensure satisfaction, and support the company’s sales initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to maximize sales, margins, and service quality.
- Respond to sales inquiries and leads, ensuring timely follow-ups.
- Gain a deep understanding of the company’s product portfolio to recommend appropriate solutions.
- Coordinate with the manufacturing team to prioritize production and order fulfillment.
- Manage pricing, margins, and product mix while adhering to company policies.
- Research and submit bids for Traffic Safety Products.
- Stay informed on market trends and competitor activities.
- Utilize CRM software to manage customer accounts, leads, and opportunities.
- Attend trade shows and customer meetings as required.
- Support the Sales Support Specialist and assist outside sales personnel and management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven sales experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of specification-based selling.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to forecast and manage sales pipelines effectively.
- Experience with value-based relationship selling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
- Basic knowledge of accounting and financial principles.
- Commitment to safety regulations and maintaining a clean work environment.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED (Required).
- 1–3 years of experience in inside or outside sales (Required).
- Experience in the coatings industry (Required).
Physical & Travel Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear, and walk frequently.
- Occasional lifting of up to 60 pounds.
- Travel within the U.S. (1–4 days per trip, 2–4 times per year).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Office setting with standard equipment (computer, phone, printer, etc.).
- Noise levels typically range from low to moderate.
- Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST.
- Adjustments may be required for time zone differences, customer needs, travel, and industry events.
