The Packaging Technician is responsible for efficiently packaging, boxing, and skidding material for shipping in accordance with order specifications. This role includes maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety policies, and reporting any hazards to ensure a safe workplace. The technician will regularly assess the quality of materials, communicate issues with supervisors or Quality Control, and accurately record orders while tracking inventory. Key tasks involve counting, weighing, and measuring items to ensure compliance with company standards, completing essential paperwork such as packing slips and pallet lists, and utilizing a forklift to transport materials to designated areas. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements:
Forklift certification required
Ability to work at a fast pace
Ability to multi task and read production tickets
Ability to perform math calculations including fractions
Must be able to read tape measure, including micrometer
Must be computer literate
Ability to maintain production standards
Must be dedicated to continuous improvement
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, or stand for extended periods of time
