π§ Mechanical Maintenance Worker Needed in Conneaut π§
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Worker to join our team in Conneaut. This is a temp-to-hire role for the 3rd shift, working from 11pm to 7am Monday through Friday. Starting pay will be based on experience and will range from $24 to $25 an hour.
π οΈ Position Overview π οΈ
As the Site Maintenance Mechanic, your primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment as needed. You will also perform routine maintenance on the equipment and handle building maintenance tasks. Additionally, you will be responsible for site health, safety, and environmental (HSE) reporting.
π Key Responsibilities π
Your tasks as a Mechanical Maintenance Worker will include:
- Troubleshooting and making necessary repairs to manufacturing equipment.
- Conducting routine safety and environmental inspections.
- Troubleshooting and repairing facility support equipment and building infrastructure.
- Maintaining equipment as per the Preventive Maintenance Program.
- Updating equipment drawings and manuals with modifications.
- Assisting in production duties on a limited basis.
- Maintaining housekeeping in maintenance and production areas.
- Responding appropriately to fire and emergency situations.
- Handling any other duties related to Site Maintenance and acting as backup for other Maintenance Departments.
- Administering reporting requirements for Site HSE plans.
π Knowledge/Skill Requirements π
To excel in this role, you should possess the following knowledge and skills:
- At least 5 years of experience as a mechanic/electrician in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and equipment.
- Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting PLC systems.
- Knowledge of motor controls, process instrumentation loops, and mechanical drives.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with DC, single phase AC, and three-phase AC power.
- Experience in repairing and rebuilding complex mechanical equipment to close tolerances.
- Skill in metal cutting, welding, and fabricating.
- Proficiency in pipe fitting with both metal and PVC pipe and fittings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience operating a lift truck.
- Ability to perform heavy manual lifting (routinely 25-50 lbs./max lifting of 100 lbs.), climb ladders to heights of 50 ft. or higher, and work outdoors during inclement weather.
- Capability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
- Flexibility to work various shift patterns and overtime as required.

- Work will take place in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to routinely lift 25-50 lbs. and occasionally lift 100 lbs.
- Climbing ladders to heights of 50 ft. or higher will be required.
