**Job Description: Maintenance Technician**
**Summary:**
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for a variety of maintenance duties, including performing, assisting, and troubleshooting the installation, upkeep, and repair of machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, adhering to established schedules.
- Inspect and test machinery, equipment, and structures to identify problems or defects.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions, using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Clean and lubricate machinery components, including shafts, bearings, and gears.
- Dismantle defective equipment and install new or repaired parts.
- Assist in installing and repairing electrical systems, wiring, and components.
- Repair and replace gauges, valves, and pressure regulators as needed.
- Support maintenance of the facility’s physical structure.
- Assist in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of conveyor systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Maintain and repair wooden structures such as partitions and counters.
- Operate cutting and welding equipment to repair or join metal components.
- Read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints and schematics, for troubleshooting.
- Follow safe work practices and maintain an organized workspace.
**Qualifications:**
**Education and Experience:**
- Technical school degree or equivalent combination of education and 2-5 years of relevant experience.
**Skills:**
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and blueprints.
- Basic math proficiency, including algebra and geometry.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project).
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
**Work Environment:**
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
- Moderate noise levels.
**Other Qualifications:**
- Own general tools.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and weekends as required.
