Shipping Supervisor

Mancan Staffing is hiring in Donora for a local manufacturing company! We are seeking a skilled Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to lead our traffic department and ensure efficient handling of our products. The primary responsibilities include directing truck traffic for loading/unloading, completing shipping and receiving paperwork, coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Pay Range: $21 - $25 per hour.
Position Overview:
The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor reports directly to the Traffic Manager and is cross-trained in all facets of shipping and receiving operations. This role involves directing truck traffic, managing paperwork, and ensuring the productivity of the shipping and receiving team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Direct truck traffic to loading/unloading docks and waiting areas.
- Complete and verify shipping and receiving paperwork for all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Oversee traffic department personnel to ensure efficient unloading and loading of shipments.
- Communicate with transportation companies regarding shipments and receipts.
- Load and unload palletized products from trucks as needed.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and procurement teams to manage materials and organize warehouse operations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Process all relevant paperwork, including Bills of Lading, Packing Slips, and Load In/Out Sheets.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving, logistics, manufacturing, or warehousing preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Basic math skills and ability to read and understand work instructions and shipping documents.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to endure physical demands such as standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting.
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
**Expectations:**
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
- Flexibility in shift start and end times based on seasonal demands.
- Prior forklift experience is essential; a valid Driver’s License is required (CDL Class A preferred or the ability to secure a Class A CDL within 3 months).
**Compensation:**
- Pay range: $21 - $25 per hour, commensurate with experience.
