Metal Honing Technician

Mancan Temporary Employment Staffing Agency is looking for Honing Machine Operators for a Hinckley, Ohio, Production Shop. 1st shift and pay will be $20.00 to $24.00 per hour (depending on experience).
This is a temp to perm positions with a great Company that offers paid Healthcare after permanent hire for individuals and Families. Shop is air conditioned in the Summer and kept comfortable in the Winter.
Technical Skills:
· Proficiency in operating honing machines (especially Sunnen machines / ML-
5000).
· Knowledge of honing stones, abrasives and tooling.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
· Understanding of machining processes and materials.
· Proficient in measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers,
and gauges.
Experience:
· Prior experience in a machine shop or manufacturing setting up and operating
honing equipment.
· Experience with honing and other precision machining processes.
Machine Operation:
· Set up and operate honing machines according to specifications.
· Select appropriate honing stones and abrasives.
· Monitor the honing process and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired
results.
· Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with honing machines and processes.
· Ability to detect imperfections and take corrective measures.
Quality Control:
· Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality.
· Use measuring instruments to ensure dimensions and surface finishes meet
specifications.
· Maintain accurate records of production and inspection results.
· Document any changes to machine settings or processes.
Maintenance:
· Perform routine maintenance on honing machines.
· Report any malfunctions or issues to maintenance personnel.
Safety Compliance:
· Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
· Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Additional Requirements:
· Openness to learning new techniques and technologies in honing and machining.
· Ability to stand for long periods and handle physical tasks.
· Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
