We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Line Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our kitchen while delivering high-quality and visually appealing dishes to our customers.
Wednesday through Sunday 3pm to 11pm with pay starting at $12.00 an hour
Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation: Prepare a variety of food items, including meats, seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients, according to standardized recipes and guidelines. Ensure all dishes are prepared with precision and attention to detail.
2. Cooking and Plating: Cook and assemble dishes with creativity and flair, ensuring the presentation is visually appealing and aligns with our restaurant's standards. Maintain consistency in taste and appearance of all dishes.
3. Kitchen Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area at all times. Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, following proper procedures for handling and storing ingredients.
4. Time Management: Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple orders simultaneously while ensuring all dishes are served in a timely manner.
5. Collaboration: Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff, coordinating efforts to ensure a smooth flow of operations during peak hours and maintaining a harmonious team atmosphere.
6. Menu Innovation: Contribute ideas for new dishes, specials, and menu improvements. Stay updated on food trends, techniques, and industry developments to bring fresh and innovative concepts to the table.
7. Quality Control: Inspect all ingredients for freshness and quality, report any discrepancies to the Kitchen Manager, and ensure that only the best ingredients are used in our dishes.
8. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols, including proper handling of equipment and hot surfaces, to prevent accidents and injuries. Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- A passion for cooking and a strong understanding of various culinary techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle high-volume orders.
- Attention to detail and dedication to delivering consistently high-quality dishes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
