A thriving manufacturing company in Green is in need of 2 Manual Horizontal Boring Mill Machinists. The right candidates will have at least 3-4 years of experience.
Hours are 1st 7am- 3:30pm. Pay is $16+ BOE.
2nd shift is 4:00pm – 12:30am with ½ hour for lunch.
Duties:
Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Uses gauges and precision measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
Operates mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Must possess strong math skills and mechanical aptitude.
Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Occasionally responsible for rigging, transporting and/or moving large parts and equipment.
May also operate manual machines such as lathes, drill presses, mills, routers, grinding machines, duplicating, and computer controlled and profile machines.
